Steps

  • Heat a large pan and fry the olive oil and beef until browned.
  • Remove the beef and fry onions, garlic, celery, and chillies for 6 minutes.
  • Add all spices and fry for 1 minute.
  • Return the beef to the pan and stir well.
  • Stir in tomato purée, tinned tomatoes, and stock, then bring to a boil.
  • Simmer on low heat for 1 to 1.5 hours until the meat is tender.
  • Add the chocolate and kidney beans and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice.
