Steps

  • Preheat oven to 180°C.
  • Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together in a large bowl.
  • Slit one side of each bread slice to form a pocket leaving a 1cm border.
  • Spread mustard inside the pocket and insert a slice of ham and cheese.
  • Place pockets in a shallow dish, pour over egg mixture, and soak for 5 minutes per side.
  • Heat olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the bread for 2 minutes until golden, then flip and cook for 1 minute.
  • Transfer bread to a baking tray and bake for 10 minutes until cheese is melted.
