Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C and line a 15x20cm baking tin with greaseproof paper.
  • Gently melt the butter, golden syrup, black treacle, and sugar in a pan until combined.
  • Mix the dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
  • Stir the hot syrup mixture and the milk into the dry ingredients to loosen the mixture.
  • Pour into the tin and bake for 35-45 minutes until springy.
