Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Bake sliced peppers, onions, and garlic on a tray for 30 minutes until soft.
  • Roll out the pastry into a 25cm x 20cm rectangle.
  • Place cooked vegetables, sliced cheese, and thyme sprigs down the center of the pastry.
  • Cut 3cm slits on the pastry edges and brush with beaten egg.
  • Fold the pastry strips alternately over the filling to create a plait and brush with egg.
  • Bake at 200°C for 20 minutes, then reduce to 150°C and bake for another 10 minutes.
