Steps

  • Fry sliced onions in 30ml olive oil over medium-low heat for 15 minutes.
  • Combine onions, tofu, beetroot, mushrooms, carrots, paprika, garlic, thyme, and kidney beans in a bowl.
  • Shape the seasoned mixture into six 150g patties with damp hands.
  • Fry patties in remaining oil for 4 minutes per side until golden.
  • Char patties on a hot griddle pan for 2 minutes per side.
  • Serve patties in buns with sliced tomatoes, gherkins, and optional mayonnaise.
