Steps

  • Preheat the grill to a high setting.
  • Halve the tomatoes and place on a shallow serving dish.
  • Slice the mozzarella thinly.

  • Strain the basil oil through a sieve and set aside.
  • Drizzle tomatoes with oil and season with salt, pepper, and sugar.
  • Grill tomatoes until they begin to sizzle.
  • Top tomatoes with mozzarella and grill until the cheese melts.
  • Serve warm with the basil oil and bread.
