Mix the flour, salt, yeast, spices, orange zest, and sugar in a large bowl.
Heat the butter and milk in a saucepan until melted and lukewarm, then whisk in the egg.
Pour the warm liquid mixture into the centre of the flour and stir until it forms a ball.
Knead the dough for five minutes on a floured surface until smooth.
Knead in the dried fruit then let the dough rise in an oiled bowl for 90 minutes.
Divide the dough into six portions, roll into balls, and flatten to 1cm thickness.
Place on a lined tray and let rise for 45 minutes.
Bake at 190°C for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
