Steps

  • Heat a large saucepan and add 300ml of boiling water.
  • Add 150g of caster sugar and boil for 30 seconds.
  • Add 500g of plums, cinnamon sticks, and star anise then simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.
  • Remove the plums and simmer the remaining liquid until it thickens into a sauce.
  • Pour the thickened sauce over the plums and let cool slightly before serving.
