Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Cook the onion in oil with salt for 5 minutes until soft.

  • Crumble in the sausagemeat and fry until browned.
  • Add tomatoes and stock, then simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Melt butter, stir in flour, and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Whisk in milk gradually and simmer for 5 minutes to thicken.
  • Boil the penne pasta in salted water and drain.
  • Mix the pasta with the sausage sauce and transfer to a dish.
  • Pour the white sauce over and bake for 20 minutes.
