Steps

  • Preheat oven to 180°C and line the bottom of an 18cm cake tin with buttered paper.
  • Heat honey, butter, sugar, and 15ml of water in a large pan until melted.
  • Remove pan from heat and mix in the beaten eggs and sieved flour.
  • Spoon mixture into the tin and bake for 40 to 45 minutes until springy.
  • Cool the cake slightly in the tin then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Mix icing sugar, honey, and hot water to create a glaze and drizzle over the warm cake.
