Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in a low oven.
  • Cream the butter and sugar until pale and light.
  • Beat in the whisked eggs, vanilla extract, and melted chocolate.
  • Stir in the ground almonds, baking powder, salt, and chopped walnuts.
  • Spread the mixture into a lined 20cm square tin and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Cool the brownies before cutting into 5cm squares.
