Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Place a filo sheet on a baking sheet and brush with melted butter.
  • Layer a second sheet on top and brush with more butter.
  • Sprinkle half of the sugar, ginger, orange, and fig over the pastry.
  • Add two more buttered sheets and sprinkle with remaining sugar and fruit.
  • Top with the final two buttered pastry sheets.
  • Bake for ten minutes until golden-brown.
  • Simmer cream, brown sugar, and butter in a saucepan for five minutes.
  • Place the baklava on a plate and pour the sauce over it.
