Method

Grease a 900ml pudding basin with butter and chill for 5 minutes.

Drizzle the golden syrup into the base of the chilled basin.

Whisk flour, baking powder, eggs, sugar, and butter together until smooth.

Spoon the batter into the basin and cover with greased, pleated foil secured with string.

Steam the pudding over medium heat for 90 minutes until cooked through.
