Steps

  • Wash the rice thoroughly under cold running water.
  • Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the onions until golden-brown.
  • Remove the onions from the pan and set them aside.
  • Add the cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, and cumin to the hot pan and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add the rice, salt, and 550ml of water to the pan.
  • Cover the pan and bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Stir in half of the cooked onions and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes.
  • Garnish with the remaining onions and serve hot.
