Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 225°C and lightly butter a baking tray.
  • Rub the butter into the flour and salt until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  • Stir in the ground almonds and caster sugar.
  • Mix together the milk, egg, and yoghurt in a separate bowl.
  • Add enough wet ingredients to the dry mixture to form a soft dough.
  • Roll the dough on a floured surface to a 2.5cm thickness.
  • Cut the dough into wedges, place on the tray, and sprinkle with flour.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until risen and golden.
  • Serve warm with clotted cream and strawberries.
