Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Melt the butter with the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the sliced shallot for 2 to 3 minutes until soft.
  • Add the potato slices and stir to coat in the oil and butter.
  • Season well with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  • Transfer the mixture to an ovenware dish.
  • Bake in the oven for 8 minutes until the potato is cooked and brown.
  • Remove from the oven and serve immediately in the dish.
