Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  • Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the base of the 20cm cake tin.
  • Arrange the plum halves cut-side down on top of the sugar.
  • Roll the marzipan into a thin circle slightly smaller than the tin and place over the plums.
  • Roll the pastry to the width of the tin, lay it over the fruit, and tuck in the edges.
  • Cut a small cross in the pastry top to allow steam to escape.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the pastry is golden and plums are tender.
  • Loosen the edges and turn the tart out onto a plate to serve.
