Steps
Mix flour and water until the batter reaches the consistency of single cream.
Heat oil in a deep heavy-based saucepan.
Dip onion rings into batter and fry in batches for 2 to 3 minutes.
Drain fried onion rings on kitchen paper.
Combine sauce ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
Simmer the sauce for 2 to 3 minutes.
Blend the sauce with a hand blender until smooth.
Serve the sauce alongside the onion rings.
