Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C or 160°C fan.
  • Grease and flour six cooking rings and place them on a lined baking sheet.
  • Mix melted butter, sugar, flour, egg, and almond extract in a bowl until combined.
  • Layer batter and apple slices into the rings and level the surfaces.
  • Scatter with flaked almonds and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before removing rings and serve with crème fraîche.
