Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Rub the flour, cornflour, salt, lard, and butter together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Stir in sugar and gradually add milk until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough lightly on a floured surface until smooth.
  • Roll the dough into a 50x20cm rectangle and spread jam over the surface.
  • Roll the dough from the long side, join the ends with milk, and shape into a heart.
  • Make small incisions on the surface and brush with milk.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until golden-brown.
