Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Mix yeast with 170ml lukewarm water and set aside in a warm room for 15 minutes.
  • Fry onion and garlic in oil until soft, then add remaining sauce ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Whisk the yeast mixture and let rest for another 5 minutes.
  • Combine spelt flour and salt in a bowl, add yeast mixture, and knead for 10 minutes until smooth.
  • Divide dough into eight pieces, flatten into circles on baking parchment, and add toppings.
  • Bake for 10 minutes at 200°C, rotating halfway through, until the base is crisp.
