Steps

  • Preheat oven to 200°C and line three baking trays.
  • Gently heat milk until tepid.
  • Mix flour, salt, and yeast in a bowl and rub in butter.
  • Add milk and knead dough for 10 minutes until smooth.
  • Place dough in oiled bowl and let rise until doubled.
  • Divide dough into six pieces on a floured surface.
  • Roll each piece to 2.5cm thickness and center an egg.
  • Cut and shape dough into arms, legs, and a head.
  • Secure arms over the egg and add currants for features.
  • Glaze with beaten egg and place on trays.
  • Bake for 25 minutes until golden-brown and serve warm.
