Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Heat olive oil in a large saucepan and sauté onions and carrots for 7 minutes before adding garlic.
  • Add beef mince and cook until browned.
  • Stir in baked beans, tomatoes, and stock, then simmer for 40 minutes until thickened.
  • Pour mixture into a baking dish and chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  • Boil potatoes in salted water for 15 minutes, then drain and steam dry.
  • Heat milk and butter together until melted, then mash with the potatoes until smooth.
  • Spread the mash over the meat and bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.
