Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Melt the butter and sugar in a small ovenproof frying pan until caramelised.
  • Add the apple slices and stir to coat them in the caramel.
  • Cut a circle of puff pastry to fit the pan and place it over the apples.
  • Push the pastry edges down to seal the apples inside.
  • Bake in the oven for 8 to 10 minutes until the pastry is golden-brown.
  • Allow the tart to cool slightly before turning it out onto a plate.
  • Pour double cream over the tart to serve.
