Steps

  • Grease a 20cm square deep-sided tin with butter.
  • Suspend a large heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water without letting it touch the water.
  • Stir the Mars bars and butter in the bowl until melted and smooth.
  • Remove from heat, add rice cereal, and fold until evenly coated.
  • Press the mixture firmly into the corners and sides of the prepared tin and let cool.
  • Melt the plain chocolate over a double boiler and spread it over the cooled base.
  • Chill in the fridge until set or overnight before cutting into squares.
