Steps

  • Mash the chickpeas in a large bowl with a fork until smooth.
  • Mix in the onion, carrot, chilli, ginger, and coriander until combined.
  • Gradually incorporate the egg and breadcrumbs, then season with salt and pepper.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into 2cm thick patties.
  • Chill the patties on a covered plate for 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Preheat the grill to its highest setting or heat a barbecue.
  • Brush the burgers with oil and grill for 3-4 minutes per side until golden.
  • Serve the burgers inside sliced buns with your preferred toppings.
