Steps

  • Add the bread cubes and stir until the mixture begins to break down.
  • Remove the onion and bay leaves then whisk in the mustard and nutmeg.
  • Cook the mixture slowly for 10 minutes while stirring regularly.
  • Stir in the butter and season with salt and pepper.
  • Transfer to a bowl, cover with film, and keep warm until serving.
