Steps

  • Wash the apples and chop them into small chunks without peeling or coring.
  • Place the apples, blueberries, and apple juice into a preserving pan.
  • Add the orange zest to the pan.
  • Bring to a boil then simmer for 20 minutes until the apples collapse.
  • Strain the mixture through a fine sieve and return the pulp to the pan.
  • Add the sugar and stir over heat until completely dissolved.
  • Cook and stir occasionally for up to an hour until a thick consistency is achieved.
  • Pour the mixture into sterilised jars and cover with lids.
