Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 220°C and grease a baking tray with butter.
  • Rub the butter and flour together in a bowl until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Stir in the sugar and then gently stir in the blackberries.
  • Gradually pour in the buttermilk while stirring until a non-sticky dough forms.
  • Roll the dough into a ball on a floured surface and flatten it to 1.5 cm thickness.
  • Cut circles using a cookie cutter and arrange them on the baking tray.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the bites are golden-brown.
