Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Sift the flour, bicarbonate of soda, and salt into a large bowl.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together in a separate bowl until fluffy.
  • Mix in the eggs, mashed bananas, buttermilk, and vanilla extract.
  • Fold in the flour mixture.
  • Pour the mixture into a greased 20cm x 12.5cm loaf tin.
  • Bake in the oven for about one hour until golden-brown.
  • Cool in the tin for a few minutes before moving to a wire rack.
