Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 160°C and line a 450g loaf tin with baking parchment.
  • Mash the banana in a bowl with a fork.
  • Add all remaining ingredients except chocolate chips and beat with a whisk until smooth.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips and transfer the mixture to the loaf tin.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden brown and well risen.
  • Cool in the tin for 10 minutes then transfer to a wire rack.
  • Melt the decoration chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water.
  • Pipe chocolate zig-zags over the loaf and let it set before slicing.
