Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 150°C and line a small deep baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Mix the oatmeal, flour, and ginger in a large bowl.
  • Melt the sugar, butter, syrup, and treacle over low heat or in the microwave.
  • Stir the melted mixture, eggs, and milk into the dry ingredients.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared tray.
  • Bake at 150°C for 45 minutes.
  • Lower the heat to 130°C and bake for another 30 minutes until firm.
  • Cool completely and wrap tightly to mature for three to five days.
