Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 170°C.
  • Line a 30x20x3.5cm tin with buttered greaseproof paper.
  • Melt the plain chocolate and butter in a bowl over a pan of simmering water.
  • Sieve the flour and baking powder into a separate bowl.
  • Stir sugar into the melted chocolate mixture and remove from heat.
  • Add eggs and vanilla essence to the chocolate.
  • Fold in the flour, nuts, and chocolate chunks.
  • Pour the mixture into the tin and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Cool in the tin before removing and cutting into squares.
