Steps

  • Place 30ml oil in a hot frying pan and add the steak.
  • Season the meat and add the halved shallot to the pan.
  • Cook the steak for three minutes on each side until cooked to your preference.
  • Remove the steak to rest while continuing to cook the shallots for five minutes until soft.
  • Peel and cut the sweet potato into thin chips.
  • Heat 250ml oil in a deep fryer or deep pan.
  • Fry the potatoes until golden and crisp then drain on kitchen paper.
  • Serve the rested steak accompanied by the shallots and chips.
