Steps

  • Combine flour, salt, sugar, and yeast in a bowl.
  • Mix oil with 150ml lukewarm water and add to the flour to form a soft dough.
  • Knead the dough by hand for 10 minutes or in a mixer for 5 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough thinly onto a surface sprinkled with seeds or semolina.
  • Cut dough into 1cm wide strips and roll into pencil shapes.
  • Place on oiled trays, cover, and prove for 20 minutes in a warm place.
  • Preheat oven to 220°C and sprinkle dough with sea salt.
  • Bake for 10 minutes until golden, or 3 minutes longer for a crispier texture.
