Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 170°C.
  • Mix the filling cinnamon and sugar together in a bowl.
  • Layer half the sliced apples in ovenproof dishes and sprinkle with half the sugar mixture.
  • Top with remaining apples and sprinkle with the remaining sugar and cinnamon mixture.
  • Combine the topping flour and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  • Stir the topping sugar and oats into the flour mixture.
  • Rub the chilled butter cubes into the mixture with your fingertips to reach a coarse breadcrumb texture.
  • Spread the topping over the fruit and bake for 40 minutes until golden.
  • Serve warm with custard.
