Beat the egg whites in a bowl using an electric mixer until they foam.

Add 450g of icing sugar and beat on high speed until thick and glossy.

Stir in the remaining 100g of icing sugar and the glycerine until combined.

Beat the mixture until it forms soft peaks when the whisk is removed.

Cover with a damp tea-towel and store in a cool place if not using immediately.
