Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Core and slice the apples into eighths.
  • Cook the apples with sugar and 15ml of liquid in a pan for five minutes.
  • Transfer the softened apples to a shallow ovenproof pie dish.
  • Pulse the flour and butter in a food processor until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  • Stir the oats and brown sugar into the flour mixture.
  • Sprinkle the topping over the apples and bake for 30 minutes until golden.
