Method

Preheat the oven to 200°C.

Core and slice the apples into eighths.

Cook the apples with sugar and 15ml of liquid in a pan for five minutes.

Transfer the softened apples to a shallow ovenproof pie dish.

Pulse the flour and butter in a food processor until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

Stir the oats and brown sugar into the flour mixture.

Sprinkle the topping over the apples and bake for 30 minutes until golden.
