Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 170°C.
  • Melt 125g of dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water.
  • Mix the flour, cocoa, bicarbonate of soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Cream the butter and sugars in a separate bowl until light and fluffy.
  • Add the melted chocolate to the butter mixture and stir well.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract, egg, dry ingredients, and chocolate chips.
  • Place 12 equal portions of dough onto a lined baking sheet 6cm apart.
  • Bake for 18 minutes until a skewer comes out semi-clean.
  • Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before moving to a rack.
