Steps

  • Butter the inside of two 1.2 litre pudding basins.
  • Pour 50g of golden syrup into the base of each basin.
  • Beat the butter, sugar, and cocoa powder in a mixer until fluffy.
  • Mix in half the eggs and half the flour until combined.
  • Add the remaining eggs and flour and mix until the batter reaches a dropping consistency.
  • Divide the mixture between the basins, filling each three-quarters full.
  • Cover loosely with cling film and microwave on high for five minutes.
  • Check with a skewer and let stand for five minutes before inverting onto a plate.
