Steps

  • Toss the mushrooms in flour, coat in egg, and then coat in breadcrumbs.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a deep, heavy-bottomed pan until a breadcrumb sizzles gently.
  • Deep fry the mushrooms until they are golden brown.
  • Remove the mushrooms with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen towels.
  • Blend the dip ingredients in a food processor until smooth and season with salt and pepper.
  • Serve the mushrooms on a plate with the dip in a small bowl.
