Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C and grease a 400ml ovenproof dish with butter.
  • Butter one side of the bread and cut each slice into four triangles.
  • Layer four bread triangles in the dish and sprinkle with half the pears and chocolate.
  • Add the remaining bread, pears, and chocolate drops in a second layer.
  • Whisk the egg, sugar, and milk together and pour over the bread layers.
  • Press any dry bread into the liquid with a fork and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Serve warm with plain yoghurt and extra pear slices.
