Steps

  • Prepare clean and dry wide-mouthed glass bottles.
  • Remove half of the stalks from the cherries.
  • Layer cherries and sugar in the bottles until nearly full.
  • Pour in enough brandy to completely cover the fruit.
  • Add blanched almonds or peach kernels if desired.
  • Seal bottles with corks and store in a dry place for at least two months.
