Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  • Brush two filo sheets with butter and layer them together.
  • Cut the pastry into 24 equal squares.
  • Layer squares in pairs at 45 degree angles to form stars and press into mini-muffin tin holes.
  • Bake for 5 to 10 minutes until golden-brown and transfer to a tray.
  • Divide the chopped figs among the pastry cases.
  • Mash cheese, lemon juice, and sage in a bowl and season with pepper.
  • Spoon the cheese mixture onto the figs and sprinkle with paprika.
  • Bake for 5 minutes until the cheese melts.
